POSITION OVERVIEW 

As a Principal Consultant, you will play a critical role in driving business development and sales efforts. Your primary focus will be on generating new business opportunities and building strong client relationships, while also contributing to the delivery of client projects. You will collaborate with senior leaders to develop and execute business development strategies to support the growth of the business. 

 

WHO YOU ARE 

To really hit the ground running in this role, we are looking for someone who: 

  • Can generate revenue through building a sales pipeline and actively selling 
  • Can support in the delivery of purpose, strategy and culture projects  
  • Has a psychology background, ideally organisational, social or positive psychology masters or other relevant degrees with a business/people focus 
  • Is comfortable building and maintaining relationships at an Executive and Senior Management level 
  • Gets shit done 
  • Is genuinely curious 
  • Thinks outside the box 
  • Wants to be part of something awesome and make a difference in business and the community 
  • Enjoys a laugh and sees the fun side of life 
  • Maintains calm when under pressure

YOUR AVERAGE WEEK IN THIS ROLE 

  • Focus on business development and exceptional client delivery. 
  • Use your sales skills to secure projects in organisational development, leadership, or culture transformation. Build relationships to drive business. 
  • Strengthen and expand client relationships, leading client meetings with senior guidance. 
  • Define scope, approach, and outputs for new projects with the team. 
  • Plan and execute projects, considering scope, budget, time, quality, stakeholders, risks, and issues. 
  • Use organisational psychology expertise in discovery processes to help clients understand their culture and identify improvements. 
  • Conduct research, analye data, and craft reports for client projects. 
  • Collaborate on designing cultural initiatives and workshops. 
  • Contribute ideas and content for marketing activities. 
  • Develop and refine Interchange’s services and products. 
  • Foster team relationships and support learning and development. 

 

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU’LL NEED 

  • Proven success in B2B sales at the Executive and Senior level, with a track record of strategic client relationships. 
  • 10+ years of experience in delivering medium to large Organisational Development or Culture Transformation projects. 
  • Expertise in management consulting, specifically with Executive and senior management, and leading cultural transformation projects. 
  • Experience in scoping and delivering projects, including project plans, budgets, and governance. 
  • Outstanding verbal communication and presentation skills. 
  • Exceptional business and technical writing skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills. 
  • Sound research and analytical skills for extracting insights and writing impactful cultural reports. 
  • Creative thinking for addressing challenges. 
  • Ability to coach and mentor team members. 
  • Resilience in navigating change and managing multiple projects. 
  • Experience managing all stages of the consulting cycle. 
  • Strong facilitation skills. 
  • Proven stakeholder management, including collaboration with senior executives and ASX200 Boards. 
  • Strong commercial acumen for identifying business opportunities and running projects within budget. 
  • Ability to connect industry trends with specific client challenges. 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION

Bachelor or post graduate qualification in Psychology, Business or Behavioural Science or related discipline 

 

NOT REQUIRED BUT WOULD BE IMPRESSIVE IF YOU HAD

Masters in Organisational Psychology or neuropsychology
